About your host
Born and raised in Northern Ireland I embarked on my journey in 1992 to explore my passion for travel. Over the next eleven years I gained extensive experience working globally within the cruise ship industry, which led me to discover Mexico. When it came time to establish permanent roots Mexico stood out as the ideal location due to its natural beauty and the warmth of its people. Initially, I settled in Puerto Vallarta and after four years as a co-broker at a real estate firm, I realized that the summer humidity was overwhelming.
During a New Year's break in Guadalajara, I visited Ajijic and was deeply impressed by the welcoming nature of both the locals and expatriates. I returned during the summer and enjoyed the pleasant climate and decided that Ajijic was where I wanted to be. Consequently, in early 2008 my partner and I sold our possessions in Puerto Vallarta and moved to Ajijic. We invested in Casa Flores B&B and dedicated several years to building the business. Ultimately, I decided to re-enter the real estate sector and joined the sales team at Fenix Real Estate. I aligned myself with Dixie Nicholson a broker with nearly 30 years of experience in the Ajijic market. In my view, Dixie is one of the most knowledgeable individuals in the area concerning real estate and legal matters related to transactions.

Each month, approximately 80 members of the LGBTQ+ community gather to enjoy an evening of festivities. If the restaurant capacity allowed, attendance could reach up to 200 individuals. The venues change monthly, consistently providing a delightful experience for all attendees.
